Mentoring

What is it?

Our mentoring is designed for those people who want to make an impact in the business world, particularly owners of small businesses.

We have a wealth of experience when it comes to mentoring. Our founder, Mark Savage, is not only a full member of The Association of Business Mentors (ABM), but delivered 42 Help to Grow Management mentoring programmes on behalf of eight business schools across the country in 2022. This is more programmes than any other single mentor across the whole of the United Kingdom! Some of the feedback from these programmes can be seen in the testimonials below.

Focus

Our mentoring is strictly focused on the business and entrepreneurial world, and is underpinned by The GC Index®️ data. At the start of every mentoring assignment, we ensure our clients have benefitted from completing their own GC Index profile. The GC Index®️ helps clients understand how they feel most engaged and energised when it comes to making their own business impact.

Our clients’ individual personal profiles help them to think about how they can ‘play to their strengths’ and maximise their contribution to a role, team or organisation.

Mentoring Programmes

All our mentoring programmes tend to be online and specifically designed to ensure radical evolution and change in our mentee’s lives, underpinned by insightful data provided by The GC Index®️.

Before designing your bespoke mentoring programme, we set up an initial ‘chemistry consultation’ to discuss your mentoring objectives and to make sure there is a trusted chemistry fit. After this session, together, we will agree your own tailored mentoring programme. Everybody’s mentoring programme is different because everybody’s needs are different!

We won’t ask you to become someone who don’t want to be; but we do ask that you give your 100% energy and commitment to the process because this is the way you will personally get the most from your investment and achieve the mentor programme goals we have agreed together. This will include you reflecting after each session and coming to our next session fully prepared.

  • Impact:

As mentors we make a big impact in our mentee’s lives. We achieve this for a number of different reasons:

  1. Active listening. By actively listening to business owner’s concerns, challenges and goals, we seek to understand their unique situation, the industry they are in, and their business ambitions. Where have they come from? Where are they now? Where do they want to get to?

    2.    Understanding where our mentees like to make an impact. We do this by using insightful data provided by The GC Index®️ and we share this insight with business owners helping them understand where they have the energy for impact inside the business life cycle. This critical data also helps us properly connect with your mentee at the start of every mentoring journey.

    3.    Setting Strategic Priorities. We work with the business owner to help them set strategic priorities to achieve their goals. In our experience, this is one of the primary ways in which a business owner will actually shift from ‘Where they are now’ to ‘Where they want to get to.’

    4.    Developing an Action Plan. We encourage the business owner to establish a short to medium term action plan to ensure a successful delivery culture is quickly established and the business is on the road to achieving their key strategic priorities.

    5.    Holding mentees Accountable. We do this by checking in regularly to monitor progress and holding the business owner accountable for their strategic priorities and action plan. We then offer constructive feedback to help them stay on track towards achieving their goals.

When the time is right for you, please contact us. We look forward to meeting with you and discussing in our initial ‘chemistry consultation’ the business impact you want to make in your coaching programme.

IMPACT

Our new GC Wellbeing propositions will result in a number of positive impacts.

Firstly, as part of our Wellbeing proposition we encourage organisations to ensure employees take The GC Index® profile. Everybody’s wellbeing within an organization is crucial – from the business leader to the management team to every single employee. If people know and understand where they feel most engaged and energised when it comes to making their own business impact, they will naturally be more productive and their own mental wellbeing will be in the best possible place.

Secondly, any wellbeing strategy will only be as impactful as the measures that are put in place, and every GC Wellbeing Strategy is formulated with KPIs agreed as part of the wellbeing strategy delivery. Typical examples of wellbeing KPIs are:

  • Employee engagement;
  • Employee satisfaction;
  • Absenteeism;
  • Employee turnover;
  • Productivity levels;
  • Wellbeing budget ROI.
